It's not possible to use history in a file. To use this feature issue, for example, in the interpreter:
)hist )file -- or possibly )hist )save name-of-file -- and )hist )rest name-of-fileWaldek Hebisch proposed a patch in another context that solves in part (not completely) this problem (see the patch for nlib.lisp.pamphlet in http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/axiom-developer/2006-11/msg00013.html)
